No official workout for the past 2 days…

but instead I took to the outdoors with my daughter Ilysa (ee-lie-zah).  We went walking for nearly 3 hours yesterday, steady pace at the walking path downtown that goes along the River.  We stopped to have lunch on a picnic bench, fed the ducks and learned some new words (Her, not me…lol).

Today I bought a Tae-bo video to add to my home workout repetoire (to spice it up a little bit)  Chalene’s videos are great, but sometimes it’s nice to workout with a really good looking trainer, lol.  Today I spent doing some back-breaking housework.  My mother in law is comingto visit tomorrow, so I had to do all the little things I have left piling up (wall-paper stripping, laundry, washing the walls and windows as well as steam cleaning the furniture and livingroom rug.  By the time I finished all that I was tired and had to go pull a six hour shift at work…And it was busy tonight.

Well, I’m off to enjoy some peppermint tea before I snuggle into bed for the whole 6 hours I’ll probably get tonight, lol.  I think my M.I.L arrives at 8am, so I’ll have to be up and showered before she gets here.  The fun begins…. No workouts planned for the weekend, but I’m going to go rollerblading with some friends from work on Saturday & I have an 8 hour shift Sunday…Oh, and I lost 2lbs so far this week…I know it’s probably just water weight, but it’s still a little motivating, lol.

day two on my road to recovery….

So far, so good.  Today I was able to do a thirty minute session of Turbo Jam while the baby was sleeping, and this afternoon we’re going to go for a long walk (Well, I’ll be walking pushing Ilysa in the stroller).  My energy levels are already up I feel positive for the first time in a long time.  Hurray!!!!

First step in the right direction……

To a better, healthier life.  Today I joined Buddyslim and decided to take the very first step in the road to a healthier, happier lifestyle.  I have let myself go since having a baby nearly 2 years ago.  I used to be fit, and healthy.  I will be there again.  I know my biggest obstacle is working out.  I love the feeling I get after a good workout, but I just can’t seem to get myself motivated enough to do it.  This is going to CHANGE!!  I am making a promise to myself that I will make a concious effort to workout for at least 30 minutes every day.  Today, I did half an hour of Turbo Jam & 20 minutes of ab jam (From Beachbody.com) Chalene Johnson is my inspiration.  She has made working out at home both fun & easy (it seems easy while doing it, but boy do you ever feel it the next morning, lol).  I am very excited to make the transition from lazy couch potato, to a fit woman who can keep up with her toddler daughter!!!
